Magnum PIMagnum PI episode 5 is certainly continuing an awesome trend of having great guest stars. First, we had Carl Weathers; then, we had Ken Jeong. Now, singing icon Cyndi Lauper is officially coming on board the CBS series.

Want to know how Cyndi will be incorporated into the series? Then take a look at the Magnum PI episode 5 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

“Sudden Death” – TC asks Magnum to take on a case to help acquit the father of one of his young football players who is accused of murder, on MAGNUM P.I., Monday, Oct. 22 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Cyndi Lauper guest stars as Vanessa Nero, a lawyer with questionable ethics.

While Lauper is obviously better known for her career in music, she has acted on a number of gigs over the years. Take, for example, a number of episodes on Bones, or appearances on That’s So Raven or Mad About You. She also has played herself on occasion, including on 30 Rock. One of the fun things about this particular gig for Cyndi is that it feels like one of those roles that he could come back to in the future, similar to the one that we saw Jeong play. This is a series that is building up a great roster of supporting players who can turn up here and there, which is something that Hawaii Five-0 also has with some of the people we have seen over there the past couple of months.

Beyond just seeing Cyndi here, this episode should prove great as a showcase for TC. We’re still getting a chance to learn about the supporting series regulars on this series, and we imagine over the first run of 13 episodes most of these people are going to get some sort of chance to shine.
