Blue Bloods season 9 episode 4 preview: Frank’s ‘Blackout’ discoveries

Following tonight’s new episode on CBS, Blue Bloods season 9 episode 4 is going to deliver a very different sort of story. “Blackout” presents an opportunity to show the NYPD in relative disarray, and whether or not there is anything that Frank can do, under these bizarre circumstances, to keep everything afloat. Unfortunately, lawlessness brings out the worst in criminals, and unfortunately, some cops to go along with it.

“Blackout” – When New York City experiences a major blackout, cops scramble to contain the resulting chaos, and Frank uncovers some unpleasant truths about his department in the aftermath. Also, Jamie and Eddie question the line between work and their relationship, and Danny and Baez race to question the subject of a murder investigation before she gets tipped off by her ex-boyfriend, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, Oct. 19 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

When it comes to some of the other stories, we’re really hoping that we get something especially meaty for Danny here given that the bar was set so high earlier this season with Lou Diamond Phillips that the series has to find a way to match that. It’s hard with these case-of-the-week plots, but maybe he and Baez could work on something that is tied very closely to something in her life. The that we get a chance to get the supporting characters on this show involved, the better off Blue Bloods is as a whole.

As for Jamie and Eddie, we’ll just see what the main source of the conflict is when the episode airs. There’s no advance indication as to what it could be.
