Typically when Will gets a visit from Chicago PD, we just imagine that it’s Halstead stopping by … but this feels different, especially since Halstead already visited him tonight about the gangster he’d spent a little time with recently. It feels like there’s a larger reason why they are there and that is something that we’re going to have to wait and see on. Regardless it’s interesting — any chance to get Nick Gehlfuss in a dramatic situation is something we appreciate, and we do think that he has absolutely killed it with most of his performance so far this season.
As for what else we’ve got here, seeing Ethan be skeptical of a patient feels almost like him transposing his feelings towards his sister onto a patient — some of what’s happened to her is clearly something that is on his mind and it’s not all too much of a surprise to see him starting to project that onto some of the people that he is treating … if that is what is going on here. One of the realities here is that it’s very easy to project a wide array of different thoughts onto an episode when you have very little to go on.
