Better Call Saul season 4 finale video: Will Mike kill Werner?
We’ll be honest in saying that for of Better Call Saul season 4, we haven’t been altogether thrilled with Mike’s story arc. Much of it felt like information we already knew — after all, the superlab was there on Breaking Bad, so why is it so darn important that we have a greater understanding of where it came from? Why do we need more information on this?
Nonetheless, the latest finale sneak peek that is out there via AMC is starting to offer up some more insight as to where this story is going, and with that, we’re starting to appreciate it more. Last week, Mike’s “friend” / superlab associate Werner got away in what appears to be a desperate effort to see his wife. He left a letter behind, and this preview is about Mike showing this letter to Gus Fring. He tells him that personally, he believes what Werner is saying.
Herein lies the problem: Werner did still defy Mike and Gus, regardless of his reasoning for it. By just being okay and wiping his hands clean of all of this, Mike is basically doing a half measure … something that we know from Breaking Bad that he is not altogether okay with.
Do you really think that we’re going to see Gus just allow Mike to wash his hands of all of this and move forward? Given what we know about the Gus character, that seems unlikely. It feels like Mike is going to be forced to do something drastic that he’s been hesitant to do since getting into this life in Albuquerque, mostly because he remembers some of what happened to him in his past. In potentially killing Werner, all of a sudden Mike becomes more the character we’ve come to see on Breaking Bad … though this is just the way in which we are charting things out at this particular point in time.
