Supergirl season 4 episode 2 spoilers: The search for Mercy Graves

Supergirl season 3 episode 13

Supergirl season 4 episode 2 carries with it the title of “Fallout,” and this episode could be a spotlight for Mercy Graves.

Going into this season, there were some serious signs that this character, played by Rhona Mitra, would be a serious thorn in Kara’s side. That will be amplified even more so during this episode, as Supergirl will learn that finding her is not all that easy at the task. Kara will have to balance this search out with actually being a little bit more proactive at work. This is where things get interesting. Professionally, she has to take an interest in this person while as Supergirl, she’s doing everything that she can to bring her in.

Hey, being a superheroine desperate to protect National City is not always all that easy.

Below, CarterMatt offers up the Supergirl season 4 episode 2 synopsis, which serves up some additional information and insight when it comes to what’s ahead:

CHAOS IN NATIONAL CITY – A shocking revelation causes chaos in National City. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) sets out to capture Mercy Graves (guest star Rhona Mitra), while Alex (Chyler Leigh) takes control at the DEO. Back at CatCo, Kara decides to write an investigative story on Mercy and asks Lena (Katie McGrath) if she can interview her as Mercy has ties to the Luthors. Meanwhile, Brainy (Jesse Rath) meets Nia (Nicole Maines) and the two end up in a precarious situation. Harry Jierjian directed the episode with story by Dana Horgan and teleplay by Maria Maggenti & Daniel Beaty (#402). Original airdate 10/21/2018

It’s nice to see that Supergirl is working hard in the early going in order to emphasize two of their newer characters. While Brainy isn’t necessarily brand-new to the series (we did get a chance to see him some last year), this is a chance to actually get to see him in a larger context. For Maines as Nia Nal, this is still going to be a part of her introduction … one that may lead eventually to the reveal that the character will become Dreamer, a heroine in her own right.
