Blue Bloods season 9 episode 3 preview: The difficult story of ‘Mind Games’

Blue Bloods season 9 episode 3 next week carries with it the title of “Mind Games,” and we think that may be a reference to Danny’s case in particular. While every storyline looks to be meaty, his may be especially challenging as he has to figure out, alongside Baez, what happened with a shooting between a husband and wife. It’s not often that Blue Bloods tackles a mystery in the same way that many other crime procedurals do, but this could be one particular example of that.

“Mind Games” – While investigating a case involving a woman who shot her husband while she was drunk, Danny’s instincts tell him there is more to the story. Also, Anthony ignores Erin’s orders to drop an assault case; Frank holds an emergency drill for his inner circle; and Jamie and Eddie navigate their changing work-life dynamic, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, Oct. 12 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

This episode is clearly going to be one where some of these people are tested in a wide array of different ways, but superficially, we’re very interested in seeing precisely what’s going to be happening with Jamie and Eddie now that the two characters are going to be in a very different situation than before. We know that they remain very much committed to each other, but this is certainly a different environment than they have been in to date.
