Outlander season 4: Starz releases new teaser all about Richard Rankin’s Roger!

Outlander season 4

Remember when we asked Starz to promote Outlander season 4 more through the lens of Roger and Bree? Clearly, they are listening and times are good right now.

Yesterday, we wrote about a really-fun new behind-the-scenes video, one that featured Richard Rankin and Sophie Skelton discussing the work that went into the Scottish Festival scenes that are a part of the upcoming season. It showcases the relationship that Roger and Bree have for each other, but then also the rapport of Richard Rankin and Sophie Skelton themselves. They aren’t quite afraid to make fun of themselves, which we like to think of as a valuable quality when promoting a TV show. A little bit of humor goes a long way!

Want to check out the latest Outlander video? – We’ve got one for you below, where we discuss our excitement for the next several days with New York Comic-Con and PaleyFest. If you enjoy that, be sure to subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube! Also, we have a full playlist of Outlander-related news that is certainly worth checking out.

The new preview that we’re spotlighting today — one that you can take a look at below — is all about Roger’s journey. It doesn’t necessarily contain a bevy of new footage, but it reminds you that the character is in part responsible for continuing the epic love story of Jamie and Claire. Now, he is getting set to embark on one of its own. It’s a lovely little message for Roger / Bree fans, and it’s also a well-crafted teaser for Outlander viewers out there who are not so familiar with the books. (We tip a cap to those who are completely spoiler-free, given that it is definitely a difficult thing to do these days.)

Outlander season 4 will premiere on Starz come November 4. Who’s excited to see it out there? For us, it’s a chance to dive back into a world full of interesting characters, epic twists, and plenty of emotion. Roger appeals to us personally since he is a bit of the studious underdog. He’s not some strapping action hero capable of kicking butt out in the field; he’s a bit more bookish, but he will find more of his bravery and place over time. He’s relatable in a lot of ways and he’s got a great actor in Rankin backing him up.

Now, we pose the question to you: What are you the most excited about when it comes to Roger’s journey? Also, here’s a secondary question: Do you love how Starz is promoting him solo? Let us know below! (Photo: Starz.)
