Magnum PI episode 3 preview: ‘The Woman Who Never Died’

Before we get too far into this particular Magnum PI episode 3 preview, can we go ahead and praise the title? “The Woman Who Never Died” is quite possibly one of the best names imaginable for a mystery show. It raises questions, it gets you drawn in, and we do imagine it is apt given what you are actually going to see in this episode. Magnum PI is really wasting no time when it comes to delivering one of the strangest, craziest stories that we have ever seen.

Below, the Magnum PI episode 3 synopsis offers up some more information — including an appearance from Ken Jeong as private-investigator Luther Gillis, someone we do hope to see more of in the future:

“The Woman Who Never Died” – Magnum takes a case from fellow private investigator Luther Gillis (Ken Jeong) to find the true identity of a man’s comatose fiancée when he learns that she’s had extensive facial surgery, on MAGNUM P.I., Monday, Oct. 8 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

At the moment, we do think that we are very much at the point in which Magnum PI is all about building the world. Do we already know about a certain part of this because of Hawaii Five-0? Sure, but we don’t know anywhere near as much about Thomas Magnum’s side of it, whether it be the people he deals with or some of the cases that he takes on. These next few episodes are essential to building and maintaining the audience — after all, these are what CBS looks at primarily when rendering their decision on more episodes. We do hope that Magnum PI gets to the point where there is a back nine order, but it’s too early to know that. This is something that we spoke with executive producer Peter M. Lenkov about recently — check out more thoughts on that over at the link here.
