Poldark season 5: Eleanor Tomlinson talks filming final season

At the moment, Poldark season 5 filming is going on in the United Kingdom, and as you would imagine, this is turning out to be a pretty emotional occasion for the cast and crew. These are people who have seen their lives utterly change thanks to doing the series. They’ve evolved tremendously and now have a chance to prepare for what’s next. It could be new roles on TV, film, or even the stage. No matter what it is, we imagine that they are going to be taking a little bit of this show with them just about everywhere they go.

So what does Eleanor Tomlinson feel about the series coming to a close right now? Speaking in a Twitter Q&A session last night in promotion of the season 4 premiere on PBS, she made it clear that it was “surreal” to be working on the final batch of episodes. She also notes just how enormous an impact that it has had on her, given that she first got the job when she was 21 and she is now 26 now. A lot changes in five years, and we know that Tomlinson already has another exciting role in The War of the Worlds, another British television adaptation.

We’ve long speculated that there could be a season 6 / some sort of reunion movie down the road for Poldark if the interest and enthusiasm seems to be there — for the time being, though, it feels a little too soon to be confident in anything there.
