Lodge 49 season 1 finale preview: Is the Lodge done for good?

It has been a fun and certainly-strange journey on Lodge 49 season 1, but come next week, much of it ends. This episode is the finale for the AMC series, and it’s one that may paint a picture of Dud’s future after so many things have gone wrong for him. The Lodge is in danger, Dud seems out of money again, and Liz is certainly struggling when it comes to her place in the world. Everyone started to look like they were turning things around, but one way or another, there could be a feeling of hopelessness for many people entering the finale.

Will we get some conclusion to this story? We certainly hope so; if nothing else, we absolutely do hope that we get at least some inklings of good things around the corner for some of these people — just in case there is no second season. (The reviews and the momentum for Lodge 49 are there, but we’re not as confident in the viewership.)

The Lodge’s fate hangs in limbo. Dud resigns himself to a new path. Liz reaches her breaking point.

It may be too much to ask for there to be some huge amount of personal growth in the finale; with that, the only thing that is on our wishlist is simply that the Lodge itself finds a way to survive. Without it, after all, there really is no show at all! It’s the glue that ties so many of these different characters together in the end.
