Fear the Walking Dead season 5 premiere date hopes for AMC series

Fear the Walking Dead

Following tonight’s finale over on AMC, when could the Fear the Walking Dead season 5 premiere date be? We’ve got some more insight on that within this piece!

Let’s, of course, kick things off here with a reminder that there will in fact be a season 5 for the zombie drama. This is a renewal that was first announced many weeks ago, and while the ratings for season 4 were down from most other seasons, that’s something that has virtually been a tradition from the very beginning here. We do think that the folks over at the network want to make sure that things feel very stable for the cast and crew, and to go along with that, there is likely an understanding here that Fear the Walking Dead is really so much stronger than it seems in the live ratings. It performs well in DVR ratings, it has a streaming audience, and it is a part of the larger Walking Dead universe. While we don’t know just how much longer the series has in the tank, we are at least happy that there is another 16 episodes coming.

The biggest ratings boost that the spin-off could get moving forward is a potential crossover for the flagship Walking Dead series. If the main show does end up helping the other, what that could mean is that there is a little bit more life in Fear yet. Do we think that there have been some mistakes made over the course of its run? Absolutely, but there is still at least some time in order to recover from some of them.

As of right now, our feeling is that Fear the Walking Dead season 5 will premiere in the mid-to-late spring, much like it did for season 4. As for whether or not that actually happens, however, that remains to be seen. The ball is in AMC’s court and they are going to do whatever they can in order to try and help the show.
