Fear the Walking Dead season 4 finale video: Martha’s warning

Filthy Woman

The Fear the Walking Dead season 4 finale is coming to AMC on Sunday night, and it’s clear that things are going to be dangerous. After all, Martha is still out there, and in the new sneak peek below, she comes bearing a warning for Morgan: She will be back, and when she is, she will challenge him in a way that she really hasn’t before.

Is all of this intimidating and/or insane? Absolutely, and it does also make us curious as to what someone, really on her own other than her walker patsies, can actually pull off at this point. We do understand why Martha is a polarizing character insofar as Walking Dead villains go, mostly because we’re talking here mostly about just one person when the series itself had all of the saviors. She’s a reasonably small-scale villain, someone who is effectively a serial killer out on the road. We do think she exists mostly to expose the personal demons of some of the characters, but it also just feels like much of the group is at this point just buying their time until Morgan really starts to begin a journey anew to Alexandria … provided, of course, that this is actually where he ends up going in the end. We know that this is precisely where he wants to end up.

By the end of this episode, we’d be surprised if Martha is either still alive or a threat to the group — but then again, we’ve been surprised before. It certainly would not be all that much of a shock if we find ourselves in that place again. This has been a strange back eight episodes; there have been some great moments, but we also thought that the stakes would be ultimately a little bit higher at this particular point.
