Come November 2, House of Cards season 6 will be here, and all we can do right now is try our best to prepare for it. Things are going to be intense, unpredictable, and also huge impactful as we start to see Claire Underwood’s legacy be fully carved out.
Moving into the season, the first thing that should be noted here is rather clear: Frank Underwood is dead. That character is gone and isn’t coming back. Claire is now in the White House, and throughout season 6 you are going to get a chance to see what the country looks like with her in charge. She comes across as bold, unflinching, and determined. She’s the sort of character we certainly would not want to mess with — but it seems like some in Washington do.
Based on this preview alone, one of the biggest takeaways that we have is that it feels almost like there is a coup forming in the White House and we are going to see a number of characters do battle in order to assert some element of power and control. The trailer hints at a possible assassination attempt, and we also see proclamations that powerful people want Claire out of office, really as soon as humanly possible. They could be willing to do just about everything to make it happen.
While the final season of House of Cards is also set to be its shortest, you better be prepared for there to be a lot crammed into a relatively short amount of time. This is a show that absolutely wants to go out with as big of a bang as possible … and we’re just happy that they kept it going after Kevin Spacey’s dismissal so they got to end on their own terms.
