Murphy Brown episode 2 preview: Where does the revival go from here?

Murphy Brown

What lies ahead on Murphy Brown episode 2? The revival is going to have quite a challenge following up on what we saw tonight.

Below, take a look at the Murphy Brown episode 2 synopsis, since it gives you at least some sense of what’s going to be coming up on the series moving forward:

“I (Don’t) Heart Huckabee” – After decades of being banned, Murphy and the team devise an elaborate ruse to sneak her into a White House press briefing. Also, Phyllis hires an enthusiastic college “Dreamer,” Miguel (Adan Rocha), to help out at the bar, on MURPHY BROWN, Thursday, Oct. 4 (9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

So are we going to have a chance to see something anywhere near as headline-worthy as what we saw during the premiere? That’s going to be tough, mostly due to the fact that the first episode brought out Hillary Clinton for an appearance. The fact that the show had a certain political leaning shouldn’t come as a surprise given its history, and we feel like that is going to be something that they continue moving forward. The fact that the second episode is a reference to Sarah Huckabee Sanders tells you just about everything that you need to know.

Moving forward, we just hope that Murphy Brown, in the midst of the political humor, also finds a way to keep zeroing in on some of the comedy. After all, a show like this is ultimately at its best when it does find a way to balance out the two different things … even though, at least at times, that may prove to be rather difficult.

We’re very curious to see what the ratings are for the revival tomorrow, mostly because this is a show that had a whole lot of buzz; yet, there are also so many different comedies on TV these days!
