Will Rosie O’Donnell replace Julie Chen on The Talk?

While the Big Brother 20 finale is airing on CBS tonight, there is some interesting news on the future of former Julie Chen show in The Talk.

To be specific, we are talking here about how Rosie O’Donnell, formerly of The View, is a contender to replace Julie on the show. She will be guest-hosting on Friday’s episode, and according to a report from Deadline, she is a contender to land the job alongside Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and potentially some other women.

As of right now, we would say that Inaba is the much safer choice, given that she appears on a non-political show that generates high ratings and has at least some sort of following. Rosie could generate more headlines, but she’s also considered to be far more controversial and would likely be a lightning rod whenever she made an appearance on the series. She’s got a ton of daytime television experience, but in the end, would that really matter.

Ultimately, at the moment it’s still a little early to say whether or not we are going to see Rosie as a full-time member of The Talk, and if we were the show, we would take our time with this and also see what some of the chemistry is with various people. While there are many candidates out there who have guest-hosted in the past, this really is something that you want to make 100% sure that you get right. The last thing that you want to do is set yourself up for potential failure down the line by not giving someone enough time. No matter who you end up choosing, there are going to be some people who have positive and negative opinions about it. It’s a way of life.
