For everyone who is worried about the future of Eric Braeden on The Young and the Restless, you don’t have to be.
In a new post on Twitter (which CarterMatt hasfor you below), Braeden (thankfully) confirms that he is not departing the CBS daytime giant after being a part of it for well over thirty-five years. For those who are concerned, he makes it clear that he is simply on vacation and because of that, there isn’t anything that you really need to worry about at the moment. If that ever changes (hopefully, it won’t), we will let you know.
Braeden plays Victor Newman on the series, and it’s really hard to imagine The Young and the Restless continuing without him. Yet, we admittedly also wondered the same thing about Doug Davidson, who is leaving the show after decades being a part of it. Watching a soap is an experience you really cannot get anywhere else, mostly because you really do feel as though you are a part of the world since you’ve followed these characters through the better part of their whole lives. Hopefully we’ll see the CBS series keep most of the rest of the cast for however long it continues to last — there aren’t anywhere near as daytime dramas out there that there used to be, and you really need to celebrate and embrace some of the shows that are left.
Rest assured, there are many more new episodes coming up for The Young and the Restless over the course of the coming weeks — we are getting near the start of premiere season for many of CBS’ primetime shows, and with that, we think that the daytime lineup is also going to go big and deliver some of the best stories possible. Let’s hope that they end up living up to some of the hype.
