Last Man Standing season 7 cast members turn up for Last Fan Standing

Today, Last Man Standing season 7 is doing what is a rather unique promotion leading into the premiere one week from Friday. After all, there is a marathon screening competition going on in Los Angeles to determine who will be the Last Fan Standing, and the winner here is going to have an opportunity to get a walk-on role on the series. Really, this is the stuff that dreams are made of for people who watch a show like this for as long as they have.

So what is the Last Fan Standing competition? Basically, this is a contest in which fifty diehard fans of the series are taking part in a competition in which they will watch numerous episodes of the show consecutively while also going through a number of other challenges for an extended period of time. This challenge could go on for quite a while, and we give these people a lot of credit for being game enough to go through with it. Let’s just hope that they got plenty of rest prior to coming on board.

The video below gives you a small sense as to what this competition is all about, as you can see some of the cast and producers kick off the competition in front of a group of super-fans from all over the country. Everyone’s got some water and they seem ready to go, though the first challenge doesn’t seem particularly strenuous: Watching an episode of the show. We’ll see where things go from here.

As promotion for the upcoming season, we do certainly think that this is an interesting stunt — we can’t quite say that we’ve seen a whole lot of other stuff out there that is even remotely like what Fox is trying to pull off here, but getting the fans involved (especially fans that rallied together to save this show) is a really nice way for the network to give back to them.
