Is Take Two new tonight on ABC? Given that this is the final week of the summer season, and Take Two is a summer show, it’s understandable to want one more episode.

Alas, there isn’t one more episode to air. Last week was the season finale, which means that we’re all left now to deal with the fact that there’s no guarantee the series will ever come back for more episodes. That’s a painful thing to think about, but it’s the reality of the situation. Nobody is talking at ABC as to whether or not there will be a season 2 — we know that the DVR numbers are good, but the live viewing was low and this could be a decision that the executives take their time thinking about.

How long could you be waiting for this renewal (or not) news? Sometimes it depends heavily on how long the cast and crew are under contract, but typically, we tend to learn more sure about the fate of most summer shows in October or November. You have to give the writers enough time to come up with a story — and then give the cast and crew time to film new episodes. Production on Take Two season 2 would probably need to start by the spring of next year in order to be ready again for the summer.

We want to be hopeful that there’s going to be more of the show, but we understand that this is network TV in 2018 and a lot of good shows don’t always make it. This could be a tough decision for ABC since the ratings were at least steady for most of the season and it did build up a following. Also, are you really going to end this show with Eddie being arrested? Sam Swift’s gotta rescue him — and also figure out if she wants to take a big movie role in the process.
