Law & Order: SVU season 20 episode 3 will feature Carl Weathers appearance

It was many weeks ago when we first learned that Carl Weathers was returning to the Dick Wolf universe as Mark Jefferies. This is a character her first popularized on Chicago Justice, which was also run by current Law & Order: SVU showrunner Michael Chernuchin. (Philip Winchester was also the star of that series as Peter Stone.)

Now, the reunion is coming on SVU season 20 episode 3 entitled “Zero Tolerance,” an episode that is going to feature Benson and Stone working together in order to reunite a young girl with her mother after she was found in the midst of a sex trafficking operation. As for how Jefferies factors into this story, that still remains to be seen. What we can say is that the first synopsis below offers up some information, and also gives you a chance to get another update on Rollins’ personal life:

10/04/2018 (10:00PM – 11:00PM) (Thursday) : After the rescue of a young girl from a sex trafficker, Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stone (Philip Winchester) must take drastic measures to reunite her with her mother. Meanwhile, Rollins (Kelli Giddish) decides to give her rocky relationship another chance. Also starring Ice T (Sgt. Fin Tutuola) and Peter Scanavino (Det. Sonny Carisi). Guest starring George Newbern (Dr. Al Pollack), Carl Weathers (SA Mark Jefferies), Scarlett Lopez (Gabriela Sosa) and Andy Powers (Jeff Phelps).

The Rollins storyline is intriguing largely based on the talent involved — if you watched Scandal, you know already that Newbern is an actor capable of channeling many different emotions. He can come across as very likable one moment and detestable the next, which makes him compelling for a show like this that often gives you so many degrees of morality. Is he someone we really should root for? This is something that SVU will liekly examine further, given that we care for Rollins and therefore want to see her make the right decisions in her life.
