As we prepare to say goodbye to this current season, let’s look ahead towards MasterChef season 10 — provided it happens.
At the moment, the culinary competition show with Gordon Ramsay has not been formally renewed at Fox. Yet, it feels almost like a foregone conclusion. First and foremost, the series is averaging a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic for the season (live numbers) and also more than 3.5 million viewers on average. While the ratings are down slightly versus season 8, these are still great numbers for a summer show and it’s one of the biggest summer hits that Fox has. Basically, it would be insane for the network to cancel it and we cannot imagine that they would.
Also, another sign of hope for the series is the simple fact that Fox has already kicked off the casting process for new episodes! You can visit the link here to learn more. While this does happen sometimes for shows that aren’t renewed, in this case there’s a reason for confidence. We just don’t envision this franchise being one that goes anywhere in the near future just because of the relationship that Fox has with Gordon Ramsay — they produce a number of different shows with him, and we still think that there is room for more with him than what we’ve seen already. Take, for example, the idea of potentially doing a celebrity version of the show beyond just one-off specials. While there’s no actual evidence that this is happening, it is admittedly still something that we’re hoping to see happen in the future.
As for a potential premiere date for MasterChef season 10, go ahead and prepare to see it at some point in late May / early June. This is the natural order of things for this series.
