Leading into the airing of the season 2 finale on FX Thursday night, the network has officially given the green light to a Snowfall season 3.
In a statement today, Eric Schrier of FX Networks had the following to say about more episodes being officially ordered:
“It has been great to see Snowfall’s audience and critical acclaim grow in its second season … The creative team has done a fantastic job and we have high hopes for season three.”
Snowfall has become one of summer TV’s most underrated gems. and we think that the second season really found its creative footing and developed many of its characters into multi-faceted, complicated figures — especially Franklin, who has found himself forced to confront the rising tide of his power amidst his personal life. Warning: Spoilers ahead if you are not caught up on the show.
The past couple of episodes have been especially thrilling, especially as Franklin contends with his decision to shoot Kevin, a move that he didn’t want to make, but one that he felt he had to given the sudden circumstances that were put in front of him. At the end of this past episode, the character found himself arrested over Kev’s death and he could theoretically start off the finale on Thursday in prison. This is going to be a tough finale for the character, but we do think that it could set the stage for some really exciting stuff as we move forward into the new season.
New episodes of Snowfall are going to premiere at some point in 2019 and it’ll be a while before any further details are released. Hopefully, we’re going to be seeing many more seasons of this show coming up in the future.
