The good news, at least when it comes to drama, is that there’s never a dull moment with the Mayans. They’re always looking for a bigger, better deal and a stronger overall partnership. They’re also not afraid to shoot people who they consider to be traitors. We saw plenty of that in the casino and we imagine that there is even more violence coming up. That’s going to be the case so long as the rebels and the cartel remain at war and nobody knows precisely who is going to come out on top. The Mayans don’t have the numbers or the weaponry, which is why they really have to figure out how to tow the line.

While it seems like this “new threat” could end up being a net positive for the Mayans, at the moment there is no guarantee of anything … It really all depends on how they handle the situation.
For Emily, meanwhile, she needs to either come to terms with the fact that Miguel is who he is, try to leave, or figure out a way to get even more involved in his operation. She’s just desperate for answers on the kidnapping and Miguel can’t blame her for her determination. He’s told her he is sorry for everything that has happened, including his indiscretion, and at least for now he’s won her back over … we’re just not sure how long that is going to last.
