Chicago Med season 4 on set: Expect a personal Halstead brothers story

We know that there are many questions about Will Halstead moving into Chicago Med season 4, especially in terms of his personal life.

Yet, we’re not going to give anything away on the subject of Will and Natalie here. The NBC show will certainly address their status following the proposal early on in season 4, but there are other issues that are going to be coming up.

While on the show’s set earlier this week, Nick Gehlfuss confirmed to CarterMatt that there is a very personal storyline coming in the crossover for his character, and it’s one that will cause him and his brother Jay (Jesse Lee Soffer) to spend a good bit of time together. It’s also not something that will resolve itself quickly; it will thread across multiple episodes of the crossover.

For those of you who love the Halstead brothers around each other, you’ll probably like the crossover very much — even if we’re not guaranteeing that the storyline bringing them together is an altogether happy one. If Will does end up getting engaged, we could see him and his brother talking about some wedding planning … but that’s if he gets engaged. They are going to have some other stuff on their mind regardless. It is still nice to see that the writers are looking at ways to extend this sibling relationship across the franchise, given that One Chicago is losing one of its other main family bonds with Dawson leaving Chicago Fire. With that, it’s probably going to be harder to bring Jon Seda back over to that show unless the writers do something more with Brettonio. (Fingers crossed on that.)
