Chicago Fire season 7 episode 1 spoilers: Casey deals with Dawson’s exit
At the center of this story is going to be the obvious cliffhanger from last season, as Dawson was weighing whether or not to go to Puerto Rico in order to assist in the relief effort. Given that Monica Raymund has departed the show (and she’s already found a new gig!), it’s clear that we cannot expect too much more of the character on the show. Yet, it’s understandable that you could want a little more closure for Casey after what happened in the finale. The premiere will be in part a good way to dive into that. The title here is “A Closer Eye,” and the attached synopsis does offer up a little more insight into what you can expect to see from here:
09/26/2018 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : SEASON PREMIERE — Casey tries to deal with his unsettled personal life and the firehouse welcomes a new member. Boden clashes with new Assistant Deputy Commissioner Jerry Gorsch (guest star Steven Boyer).

Beyond what’s going on with Casey, the biggest thing worth watching out for is the arrival of Jerry, a character who loves power but isn’t so keen on working for it. He could be the new Chicago Fire Department higher-up who clashes with Boden in the immediate future, but he’s not going to be all that similar to some of the others you’ve seen in the past. He’s got his own priorities and is going to be out to wreck a little bit of havoc — more than likely to suit his own personal gain.
