Arrow season 7 spoilers: Cassandra Jean Amell playing Nora Fries in crossover

Arrow

The latest Arrowverse casting news has surfaced, and this is one we certainly did not see coming.

The CW has confirmed this weekend that Cassandra Jean Amell, wife of Arrow star Stephen Amell, is going to be appearing over the course of the crossover event as Nora Fries, wife of Mr. Freeze in the Batman universe. The circumstances surrounding her appearance remain unclear, but let’s go ahead and raise the following question: Isn’t it possible that, on the Earth that Batwoman exists, that Mrs. Freeze is actually the villain? It’s an interesting thing to think about since this could be a way for the Batwoman series to modify characters for the sake of their own story.

Otherwise, we suppose that it’s easy that this is a version of the Nora character before she gets sick. There are also quite a few Arrowverse characters at this point named Nora — just look at Nora Allen or now, Nora West-Allen. They all have important roles in this world.

This is hardly Cassandra Jean Amell’s first gig working for The CW. Previously, she appeared on One Tree Hill as well as Hart of Dixie. Some of her other credits include Mad Men as well as NCIS: Los Angeles. It feels like the writers have to find a way to work her into a scene with her husband, just for the sake of the Easter egg. It’s the same thing we wondered with Supernatural when they recently cast Danneel Ackles in a role, something that felt like it was very much a long time coming.

This news comes on the heels of it being announced that Grimm alum Elizabeth Tulloch would be appearing on the show in the crossover as Lois Lane, who really needs no introduction for any comic-book fans.

As of right now, the entire crossover event is set to air in December. Stephen Amell confirmed that filming just started on the event with the photo below via Twitter.
