Chicago Fire alum Monica Raymund set to star in new Starz series
Per a new report via TVLine, the actress is now set to appear in Starz’s upcoming P-Town series from executive producers Rebecca Cutter (Gotham) and Gary Lennon (Power). She is going to play the role of Jackie Quinones, a National Marine Fisheries Services officer who loves to party, and also loves to use her job in order to pick up women within Provincetown, Massachusetts, well-known as an LGBTQ haven. This series is going to focus in part on an opioid epidemic, and that leads to the discovery of a dead body washed up on a local beach. Jackie is going to find herself obsessed with trying to solve this murder, in the midst of taking on her own issues with addiction.

Basically, what we are probably going to be seeing here moving forward for this series is a unique take on a mystery show set in a town that is very much different than you’re used to seeing. This is a series with a good bit of potential and it’s easy to understand why Raymund would want this role: It’s an opportunity to take on something that is new, different, and very challenging after six years of playing Dawson on the Chicago Fire.
Chicago Fire season 7 will premiere on the network later this month. Meanwhile, don’t expect to see P-Town on the air in the near future. Given that casting is underway right now, the earliest we foresee the show coming out is later next year … and even that may be fairly optimistic.
