Law & Order: SVU season 20 has another notable guest star, and this one is especially so if you love another crime procedural in Hawaii Five-0.

In a new post on Instagram, Sarah Carter (who plays Lynn on the CBS show to go along with appearances on Falling Skies and Rogue) has been confirmed to be appearing in at least one episode of SVU later this year. Details of her role are not entirely clear, but it’s still exciting news!

We do think that the respect Carter shows in her post about her appearance is indicative of the way in which most people feel about appearing on this show: It’s a real honor given how many famous actors have walked through those doors. SVU tends to have great roles for many of its guest stars, and it allows them to explore some meaty and at-times super-dark material. It takes a number of risks, but succeeds with many of them.

SVU is premiering with two hours back to back starting on Thursday, September 27, and we’ve heard about a number of guest stars already including an arc for Dylan Walsh and also former Chicago Justice star Carl Weathers as Mark Jefferies. While this show show continues to take on new cases and appeals to a modern audience, the goal here fundamentally is the same: Trying to figure out ways in which to engage its audience and tell stories all about the heroes who do everything that they can in order to ensure justice is served.
