Bachelor in Paradise couple Jordan Kimball, Jenna Cooper split over text-message scandal
Of course, it’s the way in which the relationship ended that is generating the most discussion at the moment. Yesterday, text messages surfaced via Reality Steve showing that Jenna was supposedly in a different relationship, and was leading Jordan on for the sake of getting publicity for her business. She claimed that her plan was to eventually break up with him down the road, but to keep this gravy-train going for a while. As we describe in our video below (subscribe to CarterMatt on YouTube for more), Jenna has denied sending the texts; yet, Jordan still believes that she is responsible for sending them.
Speaking via Entertainment Weekly today, Jordan confirms that the relationship is over, mostly because there is trust broken there and he cannot put himself in a position where he falls for something if it turns out that the text messages are real:
“I’m removing myself from the relationship with intentions to take care of myself and find my happiness … I will not lash out, I will not try to convince people that she is a bad person. You will not see me pursue any kind of vengeance on her. I care about Jenna. Everyone saw me fall at first sight for her and I will never deny that. Just because this has happened does not mean that I will discount how I felt for her. I will not try to play it off that it doesn’t hurt. I would be doing the love that I felt for her an injustice if I were to say that I didn’t feel strongly about this.
“… I just can’t wait and hold on to see if this is fake. I allowed myself to be played, but I will not allow myself to be fooled by this. If this turns out to be fake, then hey, it’s a good thing that I didn’t lash out at her. But I cannot take a chance with my heart.”
I definitely do think that Jordan is being a bigger person here for not saying anything negative about Jenna at a time in which it would be easy for him to do so. Whether or not this situation is as it seems is something that will be revealed in the coming weeks.
