Outlander notes: Early trailer success; Sam Heughan headlines

Outlander season 4

We’re back with another edition of our CarterMatt Outlander notes, and with there being so much buzz still surrounding the season 4 trailer, we’re happy to kick things off here by looking at its success.

It’s been around two days since this trailer was first released, and we’re pleased to say that, based only on some of the information that we’ve charted via Facebook and YouTube, it has been watched more than 2.1 million times already! That’s more than any episode of the series has had in terms of live viewers, and that’s without even charting the number of views on Twitter, which does not make its traffic information publicly available.

Do we think that all of this attention around the trailer really amounts to anything when it comes to total viewership? It’s hard to draw a straight line between the two given that so many of these hits could be worldwide and, at least in America, it’s fairly difficult to chart international ratings.

The most important thing to note for now is that Outlander does remain every bit as popular as it’s been through the past couple of years — the fact that so many have already watched the trailer is proof of that.

Other Sam Heughan headlines – There are a couple of different things worth noting today when it comes to Sam, starting with the fact that his movie The Spy Who Dumped Me is going to be available as a digital purchase beginning on October 16. Meanwhile, it will be available on Blu-Ray / DVD come October 30! All things considered, you really don’t have to wait all that long to own a copy yourself.

Also, check out the new video below via Sam and My Peak Challenge as they introduce the new Munro Step Challenge, a way to get involved with fundraising for a charity Sam supports closely in Bloodwise. This is Blood Cancer Awareness Month, and My Peak Challenge has always been a wonderful way to both get in better shape and also fight for a great cause.
