Hawaii Five-0 season 9: First promo gives you small piece of Steve – Danny fun
This clip for the September 28 premiere effectively serves as a reminder that no matter what is happening in the lives of some of these characters, there’s probably going to be a number of dangerous moments — and a little bit of amusing banter. In this promo, you get some of that fun banter with Steve uttering his famous line “book ’em, Danno” as a reference to a person who is actually already dead. How much more can really be done there?

If you’re wanting this promo to give you a whole lot of information when it comes to the ambitious “Cocoon” remake portion of the premiere, be prepared to be left wanting a little bit more. You do get a small tease in here of Steve wearing the same sensory-deprivation outfit that he’s wearing in the above photo, but very little else of the actual story. In some ways, that surprises us given how much detail has gone into making the premiere a pretty accurate recreation of the original series pilot. They really want this to be a fun surprise for everyone!
Meanwhile, it’s not too much of a surprise that CBS wants to promote Hawaii Five-0 in the same way they always have: By focusing more on the action and then also some Steve / Danny fun (did anyone else smile when Danny called Steve “handsome”?). After all, this is something that has worked for them for many years now!
