Blue Bloods season 9: Should Jamie, Eddie have their own Big Bad?
If you have been watching the series over the years, you are probably familiar with the idea of there being notable villains. While this is not necessarily a show that tends to give you adversaries who are in every episode, you do get “Big Bad” characters who do turn up a few times a season. They bring some more dimension to the story and test many of the main characters in ways they normally aren’t in their every day lives.
Yet, we would consider many of the show’s big villains opponents of Danny Reagan. We understand this, given that he is a great character and Donnie Wahlberg plays him wonderfully, but why not give Jamie and Eddie some more adversaries, as well?
It’s not all that hard to figure out what some of the best enemies for these characters could be. Just think here along the lines of a high-level street criminal who is leading some underground operations, or maybe a criminal organization who is trying to target the two because of the work that they are doing to stop them. While there are many advantages to Jamko being together, there are also some clear disadvantages, with one of the biggest ones seemingly being that if a criminal realizes that the two are together romantically, they may target one of them in order to impact the other.We don’t want to see the two suffer, but we do think it could raise the stakes for them.
In the end, the biggest case for introducing a larger Jamko villain here is rather simple: While you want a wedding to be a part of their story, you don’t want it to be the only part of their story. That’s why giving them a great assignment as cops and a strong opponent is for the best.
