Grey’s Anatomy season 15 spoilers: More on Chris Carmack character

At the moment, there isn’t a heck of a lot of information out there about Chris Carmack’s upcoming role on Grey’s Anatomy season 15. Yet, we do know this: He is a described “Ortho God” who has a fantastic set of skills, and also offers up an energy that separates him in a big way from the rest of the cast. Having some new energy helps to keep a show fresh and exciting, which is not an easy thing to do when you are talking about a series that is a good fifteen years into its run.

Also, don’t you think that a doctor with this sort of ego is going to create some rather-excellent conflict? We like to think so, but to date the producers are keeping their cards relatively close to the vest.

Speaking to TVLine in a new interview, here is what executive producer Krista Vernoff had to say on the subject of Carmack’s character, who is apparently called Link (and this makes us excited as a fan of The Legend of Zelda):

“He’s the first ortho god that we’ve had [at Grey Sloan] since Callie, who was an ortho goddess in my mind … he brings the confidence of that. And Chris brings his own sense of humor to the set, and that has been really joyful to explore.”

Vernoff makes it clear that this is a character who could end up defying some of the initial expectations that you have. That excites us, but it’s hard to get too much so until some other details start to come out. We do think that this is going to happen, but it may not be until the show returns to ABC later this month. We know that there are so many big stories with returning characters that are happening before any newcomers start to take center stage.
