Will Raven’s Home season 3 happen at Disney Channel? A look at the ratings

As we start to get closer to the home stretch of season 2, it feels like this question’s more than appropriate now: What’s the status of a Raven’s Home season 3? Is there a future for the series on Disney Channel?

Going into some of the installments later this month, it is absolutely clear that the show is in somewhat of a strange place. The network decided earlier this year that they wanted to shift it to airing in the mornings, which is hardly a typical move when you are talking here about a scripted, live-action show … even if it is one intended for kids. The idea behind this move may have just been in order to ensure that there was a chance to capture a new audience, or to set up the show in a way where it can get more ratings in the mornings and repeat when need be.

Unfortunately, the ratings at the moment have not reflected, at least directly, that this move was a good one. So far, season 2 is averaging around 870,000 total viewers, which is a fairly steep drop of more than 40% from where we saw things during season 2. This is the sort of decline that probably should have viewers worried about its future, but at the same time, it’s much of an unknown because of the timeslot. This really comes down to whether or not the show is now giving Disney Channel precisely what they wanted in this spot, and that is some sort of steady contributor in a different part of their schedule.
