Ink Master season 11 episode 4 preview: Cleen Rock One, Christian Buckingham tattoo

Ink Master

What lies ahead on Ink Master season 11 episode 4? While the preview after tonight’s episode didn’t give away too much, we are going to have a chance to see the first tattoo showdown of the season between Christian Buckingham and Cleen Rock One.

This sort of showdown feels very similar to what we saw last season with DJ Tambe, Anthony Michaels, and Steve Tefft in that the mentors are going to be facing off while some of their team members have little that they can do other than just peer over their shoulders and offer up advice. These are weird challenges in that you have a lot of people who don’t have all that much to do. Yet, at the same time we have seen some drama come out of these challenges in the past as the contestants try to contribute way more in the way of advice than their mentors actually want.

Given how stubborn Cleen and Christian can be, can you imagine how they are probably going to feel about some other people trying to tell them what they should do? This is going to be pure entertainment gold!

We do think that there is a reason to be excited about this season as a whole in that we’ve had two eliminations so far that are somewhat surprising. We don’t think that either Gonzo or Tiara are terrible artists; they were just saddled with difficult canvases and placements. While we do think that there will have to be a couple of predictable eliminations coming just because there are some weaker links in the competition, we’re hoping that we do still have a chance to see some people rise to the occasion and make things a little bit more exciting. The best seasons of this show are the ones where there is a sense of relative parity and you don’t know what is going to happen week-to-week and so far this season is delivering that and more.
