Kidding episode 2 preview: Is Jeff endangering his show’s future?
Moving into Kidding episode 2, is it possible that Jeff Pickles is endangering his show in a way he hasn’t ever before?
On the surface, it does feel like the signs are there, and we know that he is more than capable of it. This is a man who wanted to film a segment all about death, but was eventually overruled for it. He likes the success that comes with being acclaimed children’s performer Mr. Pickles, but clearly not any of the limitations. The more that he grieves his late son, the more these problems come to the forefront and the more pain that he inevitably feels. The sad truth for Jeff Pickles is that these problems are not going to get any better for him in the near future. Instead, they’re probably only going to become worse.

Jeff makes a rash decision that could affect the ability of the show to continue. Seb strategizes how to rebuild Jeff’s image. The two disagree about how Jeff can repair his family. Deirdre tries to learn more about what’s happening while Maddy is at her piano lesson. Jeff’s son Will decides to let loose with his new friends.
The worst thing that can happen with Jeff is that he doesn’t figure out a way in which to get better on his own and because of that, he starts to lash out of control. We’ve already got a little bit of fear of that particular thing and we certainly do believe that it could spiral and cost him everything — not just his career, but also the remainder of his life. That’s not out of the realm of possibility.
