The Gifted season 2 episode 1 spoilers: Reeva Payge’s first impression

Gifted season 2 episode 1

Moving into The Gifted season 2 episode 1, it’s pretty clear that Reeve Payge is a character worth watching out for. Grace Byers is moving from one show to the next following her departure from Empire, and here she is playing a character who is pretty easy to define. She’s not someone who is to be trifled with, mostly because she is smart, influential, and powerful enough to dispatch of anyone who doesn’t see things her way.

The premiere episode is coming your way on Tuesday, September 25, and the attached synopsis offers up a little more information regarding what makes it especially notable:

Reeva Payge (Grace Byers) purges the Inner Circle of those who disagree with her, leaving her completely in charge. Then, fast-forward six months, when the Mutant Underground saves a girl, but not her family, from a Sentinel raid. Against the group’s wishes, Eclipse and Caitlin meet with a criminal hacker to get info on the Inner Circle. Meanwhile, Polaris prepares for the birth of her baby, her contractions magnetizing anything metal and wreaking havoc. She also makes Andy promise to save the baby, no matter what, in the all-new “eMergence” Season Two premiere episode of THE GIFTED airing Tuesday, Sept. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Ultimately, imagine that there are a number of different twists and turns that are going to come in this episode, but this premiere isn’t just going to be about the OMG factor. We still feel like the primary goal here mostly is to set the stage for the episodes to follow and give you a sense of some of the warring factions and where they stand. This is going to be a tough season for many of the characters, especially as they struggle to determine whether or not hope is going to be possible for them in a world that is becoming increasingly hopeless.
