American Horror Story: Apocalypse trailer is here, and it’s weird

Today, FX has revealed the full American Horror Story: Apocalypse trailer, and if there’s one thing we can say about it … well, actually, we’re not sure that there’s anything that we can say about it.

This may be one of the weirdest trailers of the past year, mostly in that despite it running for a good minute and a half, it’s still very hard in order to accurately figure out what is exactly going on in here. This is chaotic, violent, and completely over-the-top. We’re not sure that we would call it scary per se, but we don’t think that the goal here is to give you something that offers tremendous shock value.

Instead, this season is a chance to bring you into some sort of weird, end-of-the-world fever-dream where apparently, there are characters from both Murder House and Coven stopping by. You see Rubber Man and a number of other familiar faces within this trailer, which exists mostly on the strength of the nostalgia. There are many people out there who more than likely love and appreciate the first and third seasons of the show and really, we think that this season was created mostly for the enjoyment of these people.

The craziest thing about this trailer is mostly that the new season is going to be on the air before all that long at all — think a week from today! FX is not keeping you waiting to see what lies ahead and in our eyes, that is 100% a good thing since there’s a lot of craziness that is coming.

We have no idea as to whether or not American Horror Story: Apocalypse is going to be good. It could be a complete disaster with a billion characters working together in order to construct a story. Yet, in the end the one thing we know is this: It’s probably going to be interesting.
