Will Colton Underwood be The Bachelor after Bachelor in Paradise?
For starters, his history in football is a fairly easy way to market the upcoming season. The same goes for his virginity. On paper, he’s the closest thing that The Bachelor has had to Sean Lowe, but Colton is not an equivalent of Sean by any means. Sean has a sense of humor that is vastly underrated and we do really think that he was a one-in-a-million guy. Finding another guy with a football history who is cautious when it comes to his sex life doesn’t guarantee anything. (Sean wasn’t a virgin, but some of the tabloids tried to spin him like that.)
Ultimately, we don’t think the choice should be Colton just because fans seem to be leaning more towards Blake or Jason — and we do personally think that their voices matter the most, given that they are the people supporting the show.
Also, not even Colton’s Bachelor in Paradise partner Tia Booth seems to want him in the role, as she is rooting for Jason instead to get the role. Speaking via ET Online, here is what she had to say on the subject:
“I mean, it was just about two months ago that I was telling him that he really needs to figure himself out before he can fully be with someone else … If there’s a chance that Colton is the Bachelor, I would hope that he is fully ready for that experience knowing that he wants to be engaged at the end of it.”
Maybe production on some level wants a possible train-wreck if Colton is indecisive … but we personally think that a better choice here is to go with Jason / Blake and get the drama from the contenders.
