Young Sheldon season 2 premiere to feature battle of the kid genuises

Young Sheldon season 2

In the midst of all the news about The Big Bang Theory ending, it’s fair to say that Young Sheldon has been lost in the shuffle a little. Yet, there’s still a lot to look forward to in season 2 and potentially beyond. If the ratings are there, we certainly think that the prequel series will continue and that Jim Parsons will continue to provide narration. The time commitment for this is certainly different than the amount required for the main series.

One other thing that you can be excited about is that there are two episodes of Young Sheldon airing next month, starting with the September 24 premiere. (Note that the episodes were recently swapped, and that the September 27 episode was originally going to be the premiere.) We’ve got details on both of them below, just to get you excited for what’s coming up.

Season 2 episode 1 – “A Rival Prodigy and Sir Isaac Neutron” – When Dr. Sturgis (Wallace Shawn) bonds with Paige (Mckenna Grace), another 10-year-old genius, Sheldon’s jealousy leads Meemaw to intervene. Also, Mary invites Paige’s family over for a play date, on the second season premiere of YOUNG SHELDON, on a special night, Monday, Sept. 24 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Season 2 episode 2 – “A Crisis of Faith and Octopus Aliens” – When Mary’s faith is shaken by a tragedy in the community, Sheldon becomes an unlikely ally, when YOUNG SHELDON moves to its regular time slot, Thursday, Sept. 27 (8:31-9:01 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

These two episodes are going to be important in their own way, as they teach Sheldon that sometimes, he needs to share the spotlight with someone else. Beyond that, he also needs to figure out how to be there for his mother sometimes rather than just have everyone continuously take care of him. This isn’t a lesson that Sheldon follows all the time as an adult, but every now and then, we do get a glimpse of it.
