Outlander season 4: Starz releases new art with Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe

Today, Starz officially revealed what may be a version of their Outlander season 4 key art — suffice it to say, it’s everything that we could want.

Below, you can see what is effectively an interactive version of the art, which has been built and constructed using a number of tweets via fans all over the world. You can visit the link here to zoom in and focus on a number of the individual tweets from many of the show’s fans. It’s a cool idea when it comes to community-building, but we don’t want to focus too much on simply just that.

Instead, can we just talk about how breathtaking the art is itself? The image of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) standing at the edge is both stunning and striking, especially with the backdrop of North Carolina behind them. We also think that standing on the edge of a cliff is representative of where the two are in their journey — they are getting set to venture into a whole new world with new and exciting challenges. There is a significant risk factor to it, but these are two characters who certainly seem to be both ready and prepared to take this sort of a risk.

The tagline itself of “Brave the New World” is also quite fantastic — it’s a simple play on “Brave New World” that works for both the characters on the show and also as a call to action to fans. Season 4 is a very different season than any other that has come before, but this is encouragement to dive into it and prepare to enjoy what lies ahead. This is going to be a season all about putting down roots and discovering your new sense of self. We’ll learn more about Jamie and Claire, but also other important characters like Roger and Bree — who have the most important story that they’ve had to date this season.

Outlander season 4 will premiere on Starz come Sunday, November 4. We’ll have more news before long.
