NCIS, Blue Bloods alum Jennifer Esposito lands new role in Amazon series

Jennifer

Following her time on NCIS and Blue BloodsJennifer Esposito has officially secured a new role for herself on Amazon’s upcoming The Boys.

This series is set to be an eight-episode, live-action adaptation of the classic comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Basically, the story revolves around a group of vigilantes, fittingly called “the boys,” who do everything that they can in order to stop corrupt superheroes who use some of their power and celebrity to take advantage of other people. This is a project that seems to be exploring the dark side of what can happen with some superheroes.

Creatively, there is certainly a lot to like about this show — it’s a classic twist on something that we know many people out there are probably very much familiar with. Also, Eric Kripke of Supernatural / Timeless fame is set to be showrunner.

As for who we are going to see Esposito play on the series, Deadline reports that she is going to be a part of five upcoming episodes in the role of CIA agent Susan Raynor. There’s not too much else that is known for the time being.

As for some of the rest of the cast, be remembered to see everyone from Elisabeth Shue to Karl Urban to Chace Crawford to many others. This is a great cast that is at the center of the show, and we haven’t even mentioned here that Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen — who also work with Ennis on AMC’s Preacher — are also going to be executive producers on the project. It’s nice to see Jennifer do something totally different than anything that she’s seen before. Her role as Alex Quinn on NCIS only lasted a season, but we do like to think that she found herself some additional fans through that part.

Hopefully, we will see The Boys on the air at some point in 2019.
