Animal Kingdom enters season 4 with great ratings; more fun facts

Animal Kingdom season 3

For everyone out there who loves TNT’s Animal Kingdomwe have even more evidence that the series isn’t going anywhere in the near future.

The ratings from the season 3 finale are in and there’s a lot to like here as the show generated a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and to go along with that, 1.37 million viewers. That’s a strong way to finish out a season that was full of twists, big reveals, and a great setup for a Smurf vs J battle in season 4.

Want to know a few other impressive things about the finale ratings? Then read on…

1. The final three episodes of season 3 were the highest-rated episodes of the entire season, at least in terms of total viewers watching live. That’s a pretty rare thing for a show in its third year to execute.

2. In general, season 3 was up by over 3% in the demo versus season 2 and over 11% in total viewers.

3. While the season 3 finale is technically the least-watched finale is ever, it was still watched by more people than almost every episode of season 2 (save for the finale) and eight out of the first ten episodes of season 1.

4. The August 11 episode (which drew over 1.44 million viewers) is the second-most-watched episode of the series to date. The only episode to cross 1.5 million live viewers was the season 1 finale.

The biggest takeaway from all of this is that Animal Kingdom is clearly not going anywhere in the near future. With ratings like this, why in the world would TNT ever want to let it go? The story is solid, the actors are brilliant and the fans clearly can’t get enough.
