The Sinner season 2 episode 5 preview: A rift between Ambrose, Heather

The Sinner season 2 episode 1

What lies ahead on The Sinner season 2 episode 5? The mystery is going to deepen, but to go along with that, there is some more drama on a character level.

One of the things that is somewhat lost while you’re watching the series (we’re using the “royal we” here) is that Ambrose and Heather don’t actually have all that much in the way of a steady history here. They only started working together on the Julian case. With that in mind, it really shouldn’t come as much of a shock to anyone that there are some disagreements that are going to come up in terms of how to handle the case and also how potentially to move forward with it. Hopefully, these are disagreements that can be resolved, mostly due to the fact that otherwise, it’s going to make resolving the case infinitely more difficult. In order for everyone to actually be successful, all parties involved need to be at the top of their game.

Below, The Sinner season 2 episode 5 synopsis does offer up a little bit more information in regards to what is coming up next:

As Ambrose zeroes in on a new suspect, a rift develops between him and Heather.

One of the big questions that we do have in regards to this synopsis is simply this: How can there be a new suspect in a case where it is fairly clear who the killer is? The only argument that you can make is that this could be someone else who was involved in influencing Julian on a psychological level and was interested in bringing him on the road mentally to doing some of the things that he was accused of. We have to at least consider that a possibility, though we may have to wait until this episode airs for more information.
