America’s Got Talent results: Did Dunkin’ Save help Makayla Phillips, Front Pictures, Da Republik?

Going into tonight’s America’s Got Talent results show, there was absolutely weirdness in the air. After all, remember that the production had issues on Tuesday and there were also questions about whatever was going on with The Sacred Riana.

Did this end up helping or hurting her when it came to the results? That was definitely a question we had entering tonight, and we’ll be looking at that and much more tonight … starting with the Dunkin’ Save.

Dunkin’ Save – Tonight, the three acts who were in need of help were Da Republik, Makayla Phillips, and Front Pictures. Our immediate takeaway from this was that we were fairly shocked to see Makayla fall to (at best) fifth place in the voting, mostly because of the fact that she’s a singer and America tends to love them. Blame her going first on the night.

Tonight’s outcome felt easy to call — Makayla would probably get the save and after that, Da Republik would get the nod from the judges. That’s our prediction.

Advancing Acts

Noah Guthrie – Given his preseason fan base, we can’t say that we’re too shocked by this — also, guys with guitars have done well on the show.

Voices of Hope – Another predictable pick, largely because of America’s love of kid singers — this act has a ton of them!

Glennis Grace – Yep. Another singer. We don’t quite know if we agree with this one all that much either.

Samuel J. Comroe – We do agree with this one! He got somewhat screwed over by the production last night and deserved this.

Duo Transcend – The best act of last night. This was a complete no-brainer.

Yes, this does mean that the Sacred Riana was eliminated … and that’s no fun for global fans of the franchise.

Dunkin’ Save – Makayla Phillips. It’s clear at this point that the singers are taking over.

Judges’ Save – Da Republik. What can we say? This one was obvious.
