The Last Kingdom season 3 teaser photo: Another look behind the scenes

The Last Kingdom

At the moment, we need to take advantage of however many opportunities we have to discuss The Last Kingdom season 3 as possible. After all, there aren’t too many of them these days! Netflix and the show’s producers have been rather tight-lipped about anything and everything when it comes to the upcoming season, and because of that there has’t been all that much information released on where Uhtred’s journey is going to take him next.

What we know right now is simply that the show is premiering this fall (October is a rumored release window), filming has been completed for months, and this is the first time that the series has been launched in the US as well as the UK by the aforementioned streaming service. This is an ambitious season where allegiances are going to be tested and there will also be violence — after all, it’s hard for there not to be when you consider the series’ setting and also some of the people involved.

Below, you can get the smallest of new teases in the form of a behind-the-scenes photo of Finan (Mark Rowley) and Sihtric (Arnas Fedaravicius). They appear to be surprised by whatever is approaching, but at the same time they don’t appear to be ready for battle. After all, the sword is clearly not being clenched and this is more of a look of curiosity. (We’re of course assuming that this is a photo that is from the show itself, as opposed to just something behind-the-scenes.) Either way, this photo sets the tone for the upcoming third season, which is going to be every bit as epic and ambitious as the two that came before it.

Consider this preview just one teaser of what is hopefully going to be many to come in the weeks ahead — as we inch closer to the premiere, all parties involved will start to become more liberal with the teasers. If the show is really going to start up come October, a trailer should be just around the corner.
