Love Is ___ season 2 premiere date hopes for OWN series

Love Is

Following tonight’s finale on OWN, when could the Love Is ___ season 2 premiere date be? That’s our focus here in this piece!

Let’s start things off here with a rather-simple reminder that there will, in fact, be a second season of Love Is ___ coming at some point in the future. This is an announcement that OWN did not make you wait all that long to learn about, with the network’s president Erik Logan announcing in a statement earlier this summer. Here’s some of what he had to say about the show, which comes from the producing team of Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil:

“Mara and Salim have brought their heart and soul to this passion project working with our friends at Warner Horizon Scripted Television and we couldn’t be more thrilled to renew the show for a second season … This series is an important part of OWN’s scripted programming lineup and to see the ratings grow as the Akils’ love story unfolds each week is truly exciting.”

When you look at the ratings for season 1, the show does validate its continued existence rather well: The OWN series brought in as a whole a total of almost 900,000 viewers a week alongside a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. While these are not numbers that are going to redefine cable television by any means, they are very impressive and they do enough to state a good case that this is a show that deserves to be on for a rather-long time still moving forward.

Specific premiere date expectations – We’re thinking the summer of 2019, at the earliest. It takes a lot of time in order to make quality TV and, to go along with it, we really doing want to see anyone involved rush things along for the sake of getting something on the air. What’s the real value in that? Potentially, we could see more announcements coming early next year.
