MasterChef season 9 episode 14 video: Cooking for the Air Force

MasterChef season 9

As we move into MasterChef season 9 episode 14 airing on Fox Wednesday night, we hope you’re prepared for a show staple — a Team Challenge in the field! To be specific, we’re talking about a Team Challenge that features the remaining home cooks doing their best to cook for men and women in uniform.

The video that CarterMatt has for you below gives you a good sense as to what you can expect — and, beyond that, what makes this particular challenge different than any that we’ve seen in the past. The biggest thing that we’re surprised about here is seeing some of these people (who are a part of the Air Force) dive into their designated eating area. Beyond that, there’s not that much here that is a surprise at all — after all, we imagine that many people at this point are fairly used to the concept of watching someone serve undercooked meat without realizing it. The judges get angry and then Gordon Ramsay smashes something. Rinse and repeat.

Yet, there are some added stakes this week just because there are only ten home cooks left and with that in mind, we have a pretty good feeling that things are going to get all the more crazy and intense moving forward. There are two episodes airing tonight and over the course of it, we imagine that the series is going to get more competitive moving forward. Given that the first hour here is some sort of team challenge, we feel fairly confident that the second one is going to be a little more creative and set back in the kitchen. That is typically the way in which this series works.
