The Scream season 3 – VMAs teaser mystery lives on

Tonight is certainly a night of sadness when it comes to Scream season 3, largely because it feels like a golden opportunity by MTV was wasted.

Despite some signs (including an actor even suggesting that fans should watch tonight), the 2018 Video Music Awards did not contain any sort of teaser for the upcoming third season of the show, which has been rumored to come a little bit later this year. There are so many different reasons for frustration about this, starting with the sole fact that this would’ve been the perfect time in order to showcase it. The ratings for MTV are probably not going to be higher the rest of the year, and this would have been a great platform, especially given that Tyga and Mary J. Blige, two prominent artists, are playing roles in the new season.

Alas, we now just have to hope that there is some other plan that MTV has for this season because otherwise, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense as to why they don’t put something out there yet — unless, of course, they are still not 100% sure when they want it to launch and they don’t want to anger anyone by making them think that there is a specific premiere window (It seems as though it will be on this October, but the network hasn’t actually made anything super-official on that front just yet.

If you like Scream, the best thing that you can do is keep talking/tweeting about the show and make sure the powers-that-be know that you’re not going anywhere. Regardless of the ratings, the promotion, or anything else, the show is going to hopefully be worth watching and it will reward everyone for all of their patience. We definitely think that everyone’s patience was tested SIGNIFICANTLY tonight after sitting through this hoping for something.
