GLOW renewed for season 3; Arrow season 7 poster; possible Niecy Nash talk show (Quick Hits)
Let’s begin this edition of CarterMatt Quick Hits with some news that we know a lot of people have been clamoring to have for a while: GLOW has been officially renewed for a third season!
Today, Netflix confirmed the news with the video montage, and this news is hardly much of a shock given that GLOW, at least through the first two seasons, was a critical and commercial smash. It brought wrestling to a new audience and made bigger stars out of Alison Brie and Betty Gilpin.
Moving now into season 3, the plan seems to be to use Las Vegas more as a setting than ever before, even though there are innate challenges that come with this given the fact that Vegas has changed rather dramatically as a place since the time period that the show is set.
Yet, with this particular staff of writers and producers, there is a reason for optimism.

The image comes via the series’ official Twitter page, and it’s a fairly clear reminder of where the new season is starting off: With Oliver in prison. This is going to be the darkest, grittiest version of the story yet, or at least it will be in the early going. As for whether or not there’s hope on the other side of that, we may have to wait a few episodes in order to find out.
Is a Niecy Nash talk show happening?
Based on some of the current signs out there, it does appear that there is a reasonably good chance of this coming to pass. The Claws star has officially booked a pilot for a late-night series tentatively called Naked with Niecy Nash that is going to explore ideas and themes in a way that are uniquely her own.
In a statement, Nash had the following to say:
“I’m so excited to add my voice to the late-night landscape. Love is the thing we were created for but it’s also the place we struggle the most… until now! This is going to be a fun and sexy ride!”
It remains to be seen whether or not the pilot gets picked up, but this is certainly something that we will be watching in the weeks to come.
