Is a Scream season 3 teaser (or premiere date) coming during VMAs?

Is there a chance that we could see a Scream season 3 teaser at some point during the MTV Video Music Awards tomorrow? It seems like there’s a good possibility.

For a little bit more evidence of this, all you have to do is look at the post on Twitter (see below) via actor Giullian Gioiello, who has a part to play in season 3. While there is no confirmation of anything at the moment, we do like to think that this is a slight tease that something could be coming our way sooner rather than later.

Also, it just makes sense that MTV would promote Scream season 3 at the VMAs just because it is the perfect opportunity to do so. This is one of the network’s most-watched broadcasts and it is the perfect chance to really bust out a big promotional campaign — including a premiere date. It’s basically an opportunity to start getting the word out in the event that it just so turns out that the new season launches in October, which is what the rumor is at the moment.

There’s another perfectly-good reason to promote Scream at the VMAs just from a musical perspective, given that both Tyga and Mary J. Blige are a part of the cast. While we certainly do not expect Scream to suddenly turn into a musical, this gives the show a little more clout within the MTV world … not that it really needed it given that the series has already aired for a pair of seasons on the network already.
